REID: NANCY “ELAINE” (NEE AGLER)

Nancy “ELAINE” Reid (nee Agler) passed from her earthly life to her heavenly home in her 85th year, on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 after a brief illness.

Elaine is survived by her husband, best friend and soul mate of 64 years, James Gilbert Reid.

Loving mother of Roderick (Sandra Kurek), Lesley Rice (Dean), Robert (Linda) and Peter (Margaret Kay). Cherished grandmother to Andrew Reid (Chelsea Csikos), Hilary Rice (Christopher Bartley), Matthew Rice (Rachel Greene) and Jennifer Reid.

Wonderful sister to Roger Agler (Sharon) and sisters in law Sophia Agler and Verna Agler.  Missed by many nephews and nieces.

Predeceased by her parents Orval and Velma Agler, brothers, Jack Agler and Warren Agler and sister in law Sheila Agler.

Elaine is remembered fondly by her many friends and neighbours including those from St. Columba Church and her TOPS chapter.

Elaine’s family would like to thank Dr. J. A. Schultz and his staff (Lena and Margaret) for their many years of dedicated medical care. Also recognized with gratitude are the Niagara Health team doctors responsible for Elaine’s treatment and care, especially Dr. R. Housley, Dr. L. Ciprietti and Dr. M. Bokhari and the many outstanding nurses and staff.

Honouring Elaine’s request there will be no funeral; cremation has taken place.

    Dear family:
    Elaine and I shared many good times and fond
    memories even though we lost touch over the years, I
    will always treasure those special times!
    She was a wonderful woman and raised a loving
    family.

    Elaine made me feel welcome at St. Columba church, she greeted me every time I attended, she was kind, loving and genuine. She will be missed dearly.

    We were so sorry to hear Elaine’s passing. She was one of the people to welcome us to St. Columba. She would always save us a seat. Her kindness was genuine and much appreciated. God bless her family during this difficult time.

    We want to give our love to Elaine’s family..we had a very good relationship with Elaine for over 50 years. So many wonderful memories I have of all the things we did together. Always a little laugh and a twinkle in her eye.She loved her family and her Chirch.. I will miss Elaine so very much as well as her friends will miss her too. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this time. Lots of love Cathy and Harold Burke
