BLAIR: Anne

BLAIR: Anne

On Tuesday, April 14, 2020, Anne Blair, wife of the late Eric Blair, passed away peacefully at the age of 97. Anne was like a mother and grandmother to many and will be dearly missed.Anne was a beloved and well-known humanitarian, who contributed to many social justice organizations, both local and international. A few of her favourites included Doctors Without Borders, the Canadian Cuban Friendship Association of Niagara, Greenpeace, and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives. Anne was an accomplished painter and nature lover, and many of her works depict the beauty of Canada’s wilderness. She could often be found in her garden, indeed she helped to found the Centennial Teaching Gardens of St Catharines.  Anne was known for her quick wit, her kind and compassionate spirit, and her passion for justice and equality for all. If able, please plant a fruit tree in honour of Anne. if you wish donations to Doctors without Boarders, or the David Suzuki Foundation would be appreciated. A celebration of life will be arranged in the coming months.

I am deeply saddened with the loss of my Wonderful God Mother. Anne was truly a special Lady, One of Kind. Her strength, love, kindness and generosity was a gift she shared with many. I will miss her deeply always, but I find solice in knowing she is re-united with her Beloved Smokey. It has been my Fortune and Honour to have had her in my life and a privelidge to be her God Daughter. I can never see perogies or jarred peaches or pears without seeing her smiling face in my mind and I always marvelled at the strength of her hands. No matter how distant, her Love was always felt and always reciprocated.
My heartfelt condolences to her family in the West and her many friends in ST. Catherine’s.

    I love you Anne,
    Shelley Bea

Could somebody please contact me with plans for Anne’s Celebration of life and perhaps information of her passing. She was my Godmother and unfortunately had lost touch over the last 3 few years

    With love
    Shelley Grant.
