Simplicity with Dignity. Niagara's affordable choice for end-of-life services.

John Anthony Blaikie, known to his friends as “Tony” passed away on Aug 29 at the age of 84 years. Tony spent most of his working life at the St. Catharines Standard, beginning in the advertising department and retiring as General Manager. Those who knew him well, understood that while his head was at his day job, his heart was at Clare’s Motorcycle Shop, selling bikes and joking with the boys. Tony was an admired business man, talented musician and craftsman, and a loving family man. He took great pleasure in working with his hands, creating beautiful black powder rifles, leather bags and the occasional musical instrument. Tony loved shooting his rifle at his gun club, playing music with the boys in the band, and riding his motorcycle thru the winding roads of the local countryside, often with his youngest daughter, Anne-Louise, on the back of the bike. There were flowers from the market every Saturday for his wife Mary and many hours ofantique and flea market shopping with his daughter Lynn. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Mary, his son, David, his daughters Lynn (Scott Lowrey) and Anne-Louise, his stepson Matthew (Cindy), sister Judy (Bob Armstrong) and his 8 grandchildren: Teo, Cole, Dylan, Daniel, Jonathan, Jake, Reid and Miles. Please join us for a celebration of life on October 13th from 3 – 5 at the St. Catharines Club. The family has designated The Boys and Girls Club of Niagara for memorial contributions
