Marie Elizabeth Bujacz

BUJACZ: Marie, Elizabeth:

Marie passed away peacefully at Niagara Hospice Tuesday Aug. 22. She leaves behind husband Jerry Bujacz of Welland, sister Bonnie Gagnon of Welland and brothers Averill Lehan of Oakville and Daniel Lehan (Beckie) of Thorold. Surviving children are, Rosemary, Lenny, Michael, Mimma, Russell, Lucy, grandchildren, Frankie, Andrea, Leeanna, Michaela, Karlee, Michael, Chris, Jennifer, Amy, Mike, Shawn, R.J., Sabrah, Riley and Krystal. She is also survived by great grandchildren Justin, Josh, Branden, Jessica, Destiny, Dominic, Kalel, Gianna and Karlie. She was predeceased by husband Dominic Gualtieri, daughter Amelia and great grand daughter Eryka. Marie was a care giver. She spent her whole life caring for others, looking after others… always thinking of others and putting them ahead of herself. That was who she was. So it was quite natural for her when she met and fell in love with Dominic, to step into the role of wife and mother to his children. She also easily stepped into the role of business owner and partner when they bought Thorold Taxi in the mid seventies. In the eighties after his passing, she went back to school to upgrade her skills. She quickly found a place at the March of Dimes where she helped those that needed it the most, find meaningful jobs. Her next career move was working and managing the Salvation Army retail store in Port Colborne where she once again cared for and served those that needed help the most. Marie went from being a caring mother to being a caring grandmother and eventually a caring great grandmother and in the words of her granddaughter ‘thank you for teaching me things in life and your sense of humour and the occasional inappropriate comment that made my day’. To the very end she maintained a loving, caring attitude, a great sense of humour and always a few inappropriate comments. You are remembered and missed our sweet Marie.

To celebrate and not mourn, friends and family members are invited to gather at the Moose Lodge, 92 Permilla St., St. Catharines on Sunday September 17th from 1-4 pm to reflect and remember the beauty of Marie’s life.
